Assistant Director for Integration 

Join us in supporting all UVM students and alums in developing their employability capital through access to people, opportunities, and resources.  As part of the Career Center’s leadership team, this role leads their own sub-team while also cultivating a strong, effective, and collaborative department-wide team. 

The Assistant Director for Integration spearheads efforts to embed career readiness activities throughout the student experience from orientation to class presentations to curricular modules.  They serve as our faculty liaison in co-designing relevant curricular content and manage all requests to present both in and out of the classroom.  They lead the Integration Team charged with 1. Purposeful and efficient data collection and sharing; 2. Data-driven outreach campaigns to improve career readiness; 3. Effective use of available technologies (including tech /data integration & scouting new tech); and 4. Office operations. They actively pursue opportunities integrate activities across units at the university and across teams in the department.

The AD for Integration will actively create a welcoming and inclusive environment and support the mission and vision of the department, the division and the university while fostering a campus-wide ecosystem that prepares graduates to be curious, courageous, and confident in their career pursuits.

Following a successful probationary period, this position would be eligible for a hybrid schedule working remote no more than 2-days/week.  Anticipated salary band: $70,000 - $75,000.

Student Positions

Peer Leaders

Body

We hire 10-15 students annually to work in our office as Peer Leaders. Peer Leaders (PLs) are ambassadors for the Career Center who:

  • staff drop-in hours to address common career questions and refer students to our wide array of resources;
  • provide online feedback on resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and more;
  • support career-related events (large and small);
  • tackle departmental projects that advance their career competencies;
  • deepen their thinking and practice around fostering inclusion; and
  • advance their own career readiness through the experience and training!

These are part-time positions for current students open to work-study and non-workstudy; rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students. We seek applicants who wish to build skills and  can contribute  varying perspectives and experiences to our work. 

PLs work 8-10 hrs/wk during the academic year.  They must attend training the Mon-Sat the week prior to classes as well as weekly meetings during the semester.

Marketing Team

Body

We hire up to 4 students annually to join our Marketing team, this includes:

  • Social Media Assistant
  • Marketing Assistant
  • Graphic Artist
  • Short-Form Video Producer

For these positions we seek students who are passionate about storytelling, design, social media, or video production — and want to help fellow Catamounts on their path.  These positions offer a chance to build valuable, real-world career skills while having fun with a collaborative, student-centered team. From designing print and digital marketing to producing engaging social content and short-form videos, student's gain experience that directly applies to careers in communications, media, marketing, and beyond. Plus, marketing team members grow a portfolio, learn from professional staff, and leave their mark on UVM’s student experience.

These are part-time positions for current students; open to work-study and non-workstudy.
