Failla, a residency-trained clinician and biomechanist, specializes in rehabilitation strategies for athletes recovering from anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. His research also spans injury prevention and shoulder rehabilitation, blending clinical expertise with scientific inquiry to advance sports medicine.
Failla's talk, titled “Tissue Adaptations following Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction: Implications for Post-Traumatic Osteoarthritis,” will delve into the physiological changes that occur after ACL surgery and their potential role in the development of osteoarthritis. The findings have important implications for rehabilitation protocols and long-term patient outcomes.

The CNHS Research Series is designed to highlight innovative scholarship and foster interdisciplinary dialogue across the university and healthcare community. Students, faculty, clinicians, and researchers are encouraged to attend.
The event will be held on September 19 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Med Ed 200, the Sullivan Classroom.
